Hi,

I have noticed a number of BSODs being caused by HPBLGF2.DLL and actually found a related post by another user but was never answered. I am running NT4 TSE SP6. I checked the properties on the file and ver info states its a HP LaserJet FA driver. I cannot easily track down which printer is using this driver so I cannot verify if downloading a newer version (if it exists) corrects the problem.

The error being generated is: STOP 0x00000050 PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA. Further info wasnt available at the time.

Any help in this matter is appreciated.

thanks.

I have a similar problem, the error message I'm getting is slightly different :STOP: 0x0000000A (0x00000000, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x8010971B). IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL, then hpblgf2.dll and ntosknl.exe

I use a lot of HP drivers, but this seems to have happened after loading the "add printer" driver for the HP deskjet1220c.

If anyone has any ideas on how to sort this, please let me know

I just got 2 BSODs today with the hpblgf2.dll line in it, but my stop error was unexpected_kernel_mode_trap. I searched my registry and found two printers using that dll file: LaserJet 1100 and LaserJet 4000 PCL5e. We are also using MetaFrame 1.8 SP3. I want to clarify, I will need to update the driver on both the server AND the clients using these printers, right?

Sarah L, - did you ever resolve this? as we are getting an identical error on our NT 4.0 Terminal Servers.

Thanks,

Hi,

I have seen this issue recently with one of my customers, we were able to track the issue to a HP LJ 5000 Driver. my customer simply removed the driver and all his other printers were working fine. If you need the 5000 driver to work, try the latest driver download from the website.

Regards,

Free Tip:

Never never ever install non-microsoft printerdrivers on a terminal server. Ignoring this free advice will lead to BSOD. So only install-drivers that are on the TS-installation CD.

Reason: NT-4 printerdrivers are non-multi-user.
If two users use the same printer your system wil come crushing down on you.

Believe me, i have blown up a whole citrix farm with a HP-printerdriver. It is possible to recover from this, but it is a difficult procedure.

There is a Microsoft hotfix that deals with BSOD's in Windows NT 4 and Terminal Server.
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=http://support.microsoft.com:80/SUPPORT/KB/ARTICLES/Q250/4/39.ASP&NoWebContent=1

SYMPTOMS
When you try to print from a computer running Windows NT 4.0 or Windows NT 4.0, Terminal Server Edition, you may receive the following blue screen error message:

STOP 0x0000000A (0x00000000, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0x80109727)
NOTE: The fourth parameter varies depending on the version of Windows NT you are using, but always reports the Ntoskrnl.exe file.
CAUSE
This issue can occur if the printer .dll files are started twice.
