Hope someone can help.

I have a HP 2563A line printer that I would like to connect to a PC that is running XP Home.

I do not have a free Serial port on this computer, so I am attempting to connect with a USB port.

I purchased a USB to Serial adapter, loaded the software. The Computer sees the adapter as Com 4.

The problem I have ran into is the adapter output is 9 pin, the printer is 25 pin connecter.

I purchased a cable that has a 9 pin input and 25 pin output, but can not get a signal to the printer.

Any ideas would be great.

Have you tried a null modem adaptor or null modem cable?
