My HP 5L printer with XP prints certain web page text too light to read clearly. I get the same problem with Delorme Street Atlas maps. The printer test page prints OK as do Word documents and Excel spreadsheets.

The problem wasn't there with WinME but started when I switched to XP. I think the problem may be due to the driver dithering certain colors but the text on the screen seems to be black. Unfortunately the driver seems to have no controls to "turn all colors to black".

HELP!

I have the same problem. I read that Win XP and Win2000 do not support parallel port interrupts. The solution is using a usb-to-parallel converter cable. Worked for a customer of ours.
